UBS

Challenge

Do away with sharing sensitive banking data using email or attached files. UBS clients’ top complaint was how disorganized and frustrating it was having only email to keep track of documents sent by advisors, as well as maintaining confidence they were locating or reviewing the latest version of a document. Essentially, clients wanted a place to go where they could see the latest everything in one safe location. Conclusion: Store, save and easily locate. Securely.

Solution

(1) Build a document repository/client portal hybrid streamlined for advisors to share with clients designated links to personal financial documents, and; enable distribution of curated investment material, either broadly or selectively. (2) Establish strong, flexible search functionality using ultra-clear controls. In addition to providing a robust search, I determined a set of high-level filters for deep diving, with the goal of returning minimal, accurate results.

Outcome

Resolved more than ~75% of legal and compliance issues through the use of special controlled permissions. A UX victory for search usability & efficiency. Most important, clients no longer were burdened by acting as their own administrator or file custodian.

A new feature was added at the 11th hour – Saved searches. Users would also be able to save specific search results with designated link to share with any approved members to access, review and download materials. A big win for streamlining.
